See Me In Shadow is the second single from Lucidity. It’s the ballad of the album, which Charlotte originally sang together with Liv Kristine. See Me In Shadow is an emotional and touching song, which deals with separation and deception concerning a loved person.
This single offers an interesting content for the fans. The first track is an edit version of the original song, and it’s far from being devoid of interest since you can hear the song interpreted by Charlotte alone. We also discover three very nice acoustic versions of Frozen, Silhouette Of A Dancer and See Me In Shadow. Those versions offer an all new vision of the songs by including influences with flamenco undertones.
Moreover, this maxi is enhanced with the video of See Me In Shadow. The video pictures a downcast Charlotte who, whereas she’s on the point of getting married, finally says “No” and finds herself alone in the scenery of a wedding that didn’t happen.
Therefore, we can look upon See Me In Shadow as the first real release of Delain as a band, opposed to Delain as a project, because the guests are totally absent and the new versions of the songs have been recorded by actual line-up of the band.
"This is one of my favourite songs because when I started writing the lyrics, I wrote the three first words down, and then, in 10 minutes, the whole thing came up! It was very enjoyable. Sometimes, it takes me weeks to write something for an instrumental part, but for See Me In Shadow, it happened just like that! It was the first song for which I wrote the vocal lines"
