Liv Kristine is without the slightest doubt one of the considered to be essential gothic metal singers. She has a very rich musical background.
Everything starts in the middle of the 90’s with the band Theatre Of Tragedy, forerunner of the now very prolific female fronted gothic metal scene. Within Theatre Of Tragedy, she will explore many different atmospheres, from romantic and gothic atmospheres to modern pop.
Today, she’s the lead singer of the band Leaves’ Eyes, a gothic metal band with folk, symphonic and pop influences. Since 1998, she also runs a solo career. She’s recognizable by her thin soprano voice which she uses in a very effective way by varying ‘genres’ and styles.
She sings a duet with Charlotte on See Me In Shadow, and one with Marco Hietala on A Day For Ghosts.
